Burglary Prevention Tips

It has come to our attention that there have been some burglaries in the surrounding areas and we wanted to make sure that we are all taking the appropriate precautions to avoid crime in our neighborhood.

When you're away from home or on vacation

Most home burglaries occur between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, so get in the habit of always locking all doors and windows whenever you go out.
Pick up newspapers promptly. They are a dead giveaway that there is no one home!
Keep your garage door closed and the door locked at all times.
Put lights, stereo or TV on a timer to give the appearance that someone is home.
Stop all deliveries, or arrange for a neighbor or friend to pick all your mail, newspapers, and packages.
Ask a neighbor to watch your house while you’re away. (It’s a good idea to leave your vacation address and telephone number with your neighbor so you can be reached in case of an emergency.)
Report suspicious persons or vehicles to the DeKalb County Police.

Keep your home from being an easy target!

Wellesley Place Newsletter

Welcome to our first neighborhood quarterly newsletter! We wanted to have a better way to communicate with everyone what is happening in our neighborhood and our community.

If you have any information, stories, comments, good news, etc., you would like to include on our next newsletter, please contact Mary Powell.

Maintenance of Lots and Landscaping

This is a friendly reminder that each homeowner, under Article VIII of the Declarations of Covenants and Restrictions, is obligated to keep and maintain all portions of his Lot and the pavement of the road within such right-of-way in a neat, sanitary and attractive condition which is satisfactory to the Board of Directors (cutting the grass, weeds, edging, etc.).

Remember that the look of your Lot not only affects the value of your home but also those of the whole neighborhood. The Board will have to address any Lots not in compliance.

Annual Meeting

Mark your calendar! Our next Annual Homeowners Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at 7 PM in the Activity Center of the All Saints Catholic Church. Further details will follow.

New Wellesley Place Web Site

We will soon have our own web site where you will be able to find up-to-date information about our neighborhood, like recommended vendors, important community phone numbers, bylaws, and much more.

The purpose of our neighborhood web site will be to make communications between residents, board members, and committees easier and quicker and to help bring the community together.

Look for details soon!

Architectural Approval Requests

Please remember that any exterior changes and or additions to your property (i.e. fence, deck renovations, screen rooms, landscape, painting, play equipment, hot tubs, etc.) need to be submitted to, and approved in writing by the Board of Directors as specified in the Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions, Section 3 of Article VI.

Make sure you describe the type of improvement, color, material, location, and include a picture or scaled drawing indicating the overall size.

A form will be created soon and posted on our new web site.

Updated Homeowner List

The Board would like to update the Homeowner Directory and for that we need your help. Please fill out the attached form and drop it in Mary Powell’s mailbox (1945 Wellesley Trace) as soon as possible.

This information will be kept confidential and only shared by our homeowners.

Vendor Recommendations

Sometimes we struggle to find a reliable painter, contractor, gutter cleaner, etc. Well, what better source than your own neighbors? We want to compile a list of the vendors we have used in the past and have found to be satisfactory and put the information on our new website so it can be easily shared.

All we ask is that you take a few minutes to fill out the attached form and drop it in Mary Powell’s mailbox as soon as possible.
